The collection of leaves, floating above and below the surface of the creek, reminded me of Ophelia as painted by John Everett Millais in 1852. He depicted Shakespeare's character Ophelia singing as she allowed herself to sink within the waters, driven mad and full of despair because her lover Hamlet had murdered her father.
